
The Summit Backyard Park has been getting quite a bit of attention lately from snowboarders and skiers. The thought never really crossed my mind that it could be used with a snowskate also… This group of riders proved the point that it can be done, and it actually looked like a good way to spend a sweaty summer afternoon. At least you don’t have to get your boots all sweaty when you use the snowskate…

Summit Boardshop in Lake Elmo just opened a summertime snow park to fulfill your desire to shred year-round. The park is definitely the first of its kind in the Midwest and is built using the Powder Pak artificial snow surface. Skate Free Wednesdays at Summit
April 27th, 2010You may have already heard, but Summit Boardshop is opening up their skatepark to everybody on Wednesdays. Best part of all, it’s completely free. If you haven’t checked out Summit lately, be sure to make it out on a Wednesday and bring your deck for a little session. Summit has tons of plans for expansion and even an artificial snow surface this summer. There will definitely be a future post on rideMinnesota when they get their snow surface completed. Get out there and support your local shop.

The final event of the Summit Boardshop Pro/Am series “ShredaMania” is coming up soon. ShredaMania will be on February 26th at 6pm and the location will be the Summit Backyard Park in Lake Elmo. For this final event there is a $3000 purse to be awarded! There will also be “Free Beer” for all the over-21 people in attendance… Even if you don’t like to watch snowboarding, get out there and support local shops by buying some of their gear that’s on sale!

Summit Boardshop – Crew Wars
January 11th, 2010Summit Boardshop is going to be hosting a new kind of competition in their backyard park. The contest titled “Crew Wars” will be a chance for you to put together a crew of riders/skiers that you think can be called the “Dream Team.” Each team must wear distinguishing clothing so it will be a great opportunity to bust out those Gorillas suits. The “wars” will be on January 29th, but make sure you pre-register by January 22nd. You can register by phone or at Summit’s website.
Summit Boardshop Announces Pro/Am Rail Series

The Summit Boardshop recently announced that it will be hosting a Pro/Am Rail Series this season. This series will consist of several qualifiers with a point system to ensure that only the best riders will be in the final for the $4000+ cash purse. Summit Backyard Rail Jam this Weekend.
November 26th, 2008Summit Boardshop in Lake Elmo will be hosting a rail jam directly behind their shop this Saturday. The setup looks sick and there is a $1000 grand prize.
