As the ski resorts start to all close for the season, everybody’s mind is turning back to Skate season. Luckily there are several amazing new skate parks this year. I’m sure you have already heard about the Skate Plaza in Saint Cloud, but not everybody has caught wind of the new park in Bemidji. It was built by Spohn Ranch and looks amazing from the pictures. Just one more skate destination this summer… Hit the link below for more pictures.

The City of Hugo’s New Skate Park

hugopark1

The city of Hugo broke ground on their new skate park this summer and it’s well on it’s way to the grand opening. The park is located in Lions Park which is right near the City Hall and right off of Hwy 61. The park was designed in part by two local youth skateboarders and the American Ramp Company. The park will include a quarter pipe, bank ramp, pyramid, grind rails, skittle pad and dragon back. The FL Project is working with the city to sponsor the parks grand opening on October 1st which will include an all ages competition from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. So get out there, join the competition, beat the hell out of the new park and have some fun.

Skate Free Wednesdays at Summit

You may have already heard, but Summit Boardshop is opening up their skatepark to everybody on Wednesdays.  Best part of all, it’s completely free.  If you haven’t checked out Summit lately, be sure to make it out on a Wednesday and bring your deck for a little session.  Summit has tons of plans for expansion and even an artificial snow surface this summer.  There will definitely be a future post on rideMinnesota when they get their snow surface completed.  Get out there and support your local shop.
