The Wakeworld New Producer Contest results are in and local filmer Ryan Taylor was awarded first place! We would like to say congrats to Ryan and he definitely deserved the win. Ryan won a complete Byerly Wakeboard Package plus a trip to go film Scott Byerley and several other pros in the flesh. The site has came a long way since the beginning, but we believe there are always ways to improve. Please tell us what we can do better or what you would like to see more of on the site. The final event of the Summit Boardshop Pro/Am series “ShredaMania” is coming up soon. ShredaMania will be on February 26th at 6pm and the location will be the Summit Backyard Park in Lake Elmo. For this final event there is a $3000 purse to be awarded! There will also be “Free Beer” for all the over-21 people in attendance… Even if you don’t like to watch snowboarding, get out there and support local shops by buying some of their gear that’s on sale!

Summit Boardshop – Crew Wars

Summit Boardshop is going to be hosting a new kind of competition in their backyard park. The contest titled “Crew Wars” will be a chance for you to put together a crew of riders/skiers that you think can be called the “Dream Team.” Each team must wear distinguishing clothing so it will be a great opportunity to bust out those Gorillas suits. The “wars” will be on January 29th, but make sure you pre-register by January 22nd. You can register by phone or at Summit’s website.

Frozen Chozen Midwest Tour 09-10

The Frozen Chozen Midwest Snowboard Tour is back for the 2009/2010 season. This is the contest series for all you Western Minnesota Residents and even some people in South Dakota. There will be 3 qualifying events this year which will be held at Andes Tower Hills, Buena Vista, and even Great Bear Ski Area. The top 5 finishers from each qualifier will be invited to the finals event which will be held at Andes Tower Hills. Summit Boardshop Announces Pro/Am Rail Series

The Summit Boardshop recently announced that it will be hosting a Pro/Am Rail Series this season. This series will consist of several qualifiers with a point system to ensure that only the best riders will be in the final for the $4000+ cash purse. It will be kind of like you are going for the Olympics… Be sure to check back with rideMinnesota for results,photos, and videos from the events. Click the read more link for more detailed info.

Pro/Am Series Details

The Summit Pro/Am is a rail jam series. There are 4 qualifiers. At these 4 qualifiers the top snowboader and skier will be automatically invited to the final. Also, 2nd place will receive 100 points, 3rd will receive 50 points, and so on down to 10th place. The top 10 point leaders at the end of the series will also be invited to the final. The final will take place in the Summit “Backyard.” A last chance qualifier will give us a total of 20 amateur snowboarders and 20 amateur skiers the chance to compete against 5 special guests in the final. The top amateur in the final will win a special prize. Amateurs will also have a chance to battle the special guests for a $4000+ cash purse. Each qualifier will also have a top prize, snowboard/ski raffle and plenty of free stuff. There will be news releases for each qualifier.

How to Register:

To pre-register you can call 651-714-1117. You can reserve a spot for any of the qualifiers. You can also register the day of the even. Please call if you have any questions. Last chance qualifier is open only to those who have competed in one of the previous qualifiers. If you place first in a qualifier you will not need to compete in any other qualifier.

FL Project Pole Jam Photos

The bungee was getting a full blown workout in Forest Lake this past weekend. The FL Project hosted a best trick pole jam at their shop which was powered by the Banshee Bungee. Riders were getting yanked into the pole ramp and throwing everything from 360 taps to frontflips. Congrats to Nate Bryant for winning the best rider of the day. Shred til You’re Dead on Halloween

Zombie Boardshop in Burnsville is hosting their annual Shred til you’re Dead Rail Jam on October 31st, 2009. Yes, you read right, that is Halloween day.
