Transworld TransAm Video

February 16th, 2010

Last weekend, Transworld Snowboarding hosted their annual TransAm Event at Buck Hill.  If you have ever been to one of these events, you know that is one of the best mini-shred setups around.  Tons of riders showed up to throw down, but Easton Gilman and Emily Blewitt walked away with first place and an invite to the TransAm finals at Bear Mountain in California.  Thanks to Eric Waldron for producing this great recap video of the contest.  As always, click the “read more” link to watch the video here.

1st big weekend for local resorts.

December 4th, 2009

troll-seven-runs

Finally, the Twin Cities area has had some decent enough weather (and even a little natural snow) for local resorts to make some white stuff. This weekend seems to be “the weekend” for local resorts such as Afton, Welch and Buck Hill to open, and a lot of people are excited. This weekend will be many rider’s first time out this season.

Other resorts that have been open, like Wild and Trollhaugen, will have more runs opening. A couple of the rideMinnesota guys are headed to late night Trollhaugen tonight for their 10pm to 3am session for $15.

View Trollhaugen’s Twitter page that got us excited here: @The__Troll.

The annual Shred Til You’re Dead Halloween rail jam went down this weekend in Burnsville, Minnesota.  Zombie Boardshop as always hosted this great event.  There were many great costumes around which always creates a good vibe.  Even though the snow was sparse, the riders made the best of it.  Hopefully the weather will get colder so we can get some resorts open soon.  Check out the video after clicking the read more link below.  (If you’re reading this on Facebook, you must go to rideMinnesota.com to watch the video)

Buck Hill's Giant Magic Carpet

December 17th, 2008

magiccarpetbuck

Buck Hill has now officially opened the longest magic carpet lift in the USA! The new Magic Carpet lift replaces the beginner’s rope tow & J-Bar. The new lift extends to the top of the hill for a huge expansion of beginner’s terrain, and features a covered bridge over another trail! It’s quite the sight and kind of reminds me of an Amtrak train. Let’s see how many people get stuck in the tunnel when they fall down!!! Check out Buck Hill’s website for more pictures!
