Here is a bit of footage that showed up from the Minneapolis round of the Red Bull Mississippi Grind. Check out those Familia boys tearing it up.
Just in case you forgot already, the Get Healthy Crew produced the excellent free snowboard movie “Going Green” last season. After such a great success, it looks like they spent the summer celebrating with tons of skating. Just as “Going Green” was fun to watch, so is their off-season. If you aren’t sold yet, you should probably know that there are Airblaster Ninja Suits involved…
Somehow, we stumbled upon this skate plaza video featuring Joey Peterson and Preston Witte. The video is very well produced with slow motion shots that make us drool a little. Watch the video, then wipe up your drool, and then get out to the skate plaza for some skating in this perfect late-summer weather.
Apparently Red Bull has an unlimited supply of money to dump into random, although interesting and unique, events and now they are focusing on their sites on skateboarding. Get ready for the Red Bull Mississippi Grind. On Labor Day Weekend, Red Bull will depart Saint Paul, MN on the largest floating skate barge the Mississippi River has ever seen. This all-concrete skate park, built by Spohn Ranch, will be assembled in St Paul, MN, then make stops in major ports along the river-way over the course of 35 days for the ultimate skate journey. Each port city will have opportunities for local riders and global pros to ride the Barge Park. They will be launching from the Twin Cities at Upper Riving Landing on Saturday, September 3, 2011 and making stops at Quad Cities, IA September 9th & 10th, St. Louis, MO September 17th & 18th then it is off to the finals in New Orleans on October 9th.
