Another great Frozen Chozen Tour has came and went. If you made it to any of the events, you know that this is one of the best event series around the Midwest. The final event of the Summit Boardshop Pro/Am series “ShredaMania” is coming up soon. ShredaMania will be on February 26th at 6pm and the location will be the Summit Backyard Park in Lake Elmo. For this final event there is a $3000 purse to be awarded! There will also be “Free Beer” for all the over-21 people in attendance… Even if you don’t like to watch snowboarding, get out there and support local shops by buying some of their gear that’s on sale!
Last weekend, Transworld Snowboarding hosted their annual TransAm Event at Buck Hill. If you have ever been to one of these events, you know that is one of the best mini-shred setups around. Tons of riders showed up to throw down, but Easton Gilman and Emily Blewitt walked away with first place and an invite to the TransAm finals at Bear Mountain in California. The Faction Boardshop has announced the “Faction Challenge” which will be a jump and rail contest. The event will be held at Andes Tower Hills in Kensington Minnesota for all you Western residents. Faction recently announced that their will be a $250 cash prize for this event. Registration will be from 10-11am so get their early to ensure your spot for the contest which starts at 12pm noon. Make sure to get out there and support Faction Boardshop who has been doing a great job of representing Minnesota snowboarding.
Summit Boardshop is going to be hosting a new kind of competition in their backyard park. The contest titled “Crew Wars” will be a chance for you to put together a crew of riders/skiers that you think can be called the “Dream Team.” Each team must wear distinguishing clothing so it will be a great opportunity to bust out those Gorillas suits. The “wars” will be on January 29th, but make sure you pre-register by January 22nd. You can register by phone or at Summit’s website.
The Frozen Chozen Midwest Snowboard Tour is back for the 2009/2010 season. This is the contest series for all you Western Minnesota Residents and even some people in South Dakota. There will be 3 qualifying events this year which will be held at Andes Tower Hills, Buena Vista, and even Great Bear Ski Area. The top 5 finishers from each qualifier will be invited to the finals event which will be held at Andes Tower Hills. On this Saturday (Dec. 19th) at 5pm, the FL Project will be sponsoring some games of SnoDice! The games will be at Wild Mountain and it’s only $5 to ride. This is all about FUN and raising some money for the Wild Mountain Snow Park, so head over to Wild this Saturday and roll some dice with the FLP crew and help us raise money for YOUR snow park. There might even be some goodies being tossed around for those that are involved! Keep supporting the FL Project whenever possible because they put on great events like this!
This weekend Trollhaugen is giving riders a chance to win a 3 night/day Aspen vacation. This includes 3 nights lodging at Stonebridge Inn in Snowmass and two 3-day lift tickets to Aspen Snowmass. Riders must be at Trollhaugen on Dec 12th or 13th to register.
This sounds like a killer opportunity!

The Bald E-Gal cup stop #1 was a huge success thanks to all the sponsors and of course Bald E-Gal itself. Powder Ridge in Kimball, Minnesota hosted the first stop of the series. If you’re ever near Saint Cloud make sure to check the place out. I have to say this is definitely one of the best produced video edits I have seen this year! Sorry for the delay in posting the photos from the Joe’s Boardshop Rail Jam. The event was a huge success and everybody that attended walked away with a ton of free swag. There was even a showing by the pro Salomon Snowboard team during the event. I would like to give a big “Thank You” to AJ Miller for the photos from the event.
